Practice Areas: Health law, medical malpractice and general insurance defense
Edward currently practices both health law and medical malpractice defense with the firm. Prior to joining the firm, he spent nearly ten years in active duty service with the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General Corps, specializing primarily in Federal civil and criminal litigation. Initially designated as a criminal prosecutor, he was then chosen to become a regional defense attorney and obtained significant court room experience. This was followed by an extensive assignment in the Air Force medical law program, first serving as the senior in-house counsel to the Air Force’s second largest medical facility and then moving to the corporate headquarters level in Washington, DC to defend the United States in medical malpractice cases across the globe. In this position, his experience in medical credentialing matters led to his designation as the leader and mentor to the Air Force medical-legal community on adverse privileging hearings. Edward continues in his service in the USAF Reserves providing legal expertise in criminal justice, civil matters, and healthcare law.
Edward is active in various community service activities. He has been an instructor of Continuing Legal Education courses for the civil litigation sections of the Federal government and has spoken at international seminars on various medical legal topics. In 2006, he was awarded the Patient Safety Champion Award by the David Grant USAF Medical Center for his commitment and work towards protecting vulnerable patient populations.
