Experience:
Steve is a founding director of the Firm. Steve started his legal practice over 20 years ago with a large Phoenix law firm. He defends physicians and hospitals; airlines, pilots and manufacturers; and, construction subcontractors in litigation in Arizona. Steve has significant first chair jury trial experience, including catastrophic injury, death and class action suits in State and Federal Court. He has also tried many administrative cases, including defending OIG enforcement actions against physicians and prosecuting physician credentialing disputes for hospitals. Steve represents a large hospital system in the Pacific Northwest, Alaska and Canada and directs their defense of brain injured birth and neurological injury cases as pro hac vice counsel. He assists in the coordination and oversight of litigation activities across North America for a leading manufacturer. He has lectured and presented papers on numerous litigation topics and is a member of the Civil Jury Instruction Committee for the Arizona State Bar.
Other:
Steve is an AV rated attorney by Martindale Hubbell, and was recognized in 2007 for his trial advocacy by Southwest Super Lawyers as a "Super Lawyer" in medical malpractice defense. In addition to his trial work, he has argued appeals in the Arizona Court of Appeals, the Arizona Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Steve was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps in 1979, where he had worked in top secret special intelligence and was deployed overseas.
