Margaret F. Dean

Practice Areas: Civil litigation, including product liability, employment, personal injury, medical malpractice, health law, general insurance defense and appellate advocacy.

Experience: Margaret is Managing Partner of the firm. The focus of her practice is on civil litigation, with emphasis and interest with claims involving wrongful death, product liability, medical malpractice, employment and personal injury cases at the trial and appellate court levels. She was certified as a specialist in personal injury and wrongful death litigation by the State Bar of Arizona and has significant litigation and jury trial experience. Margaret has also served as a legal consultant to the Arizona Superior Court in Maricopa County on a variety of matters including preparation of legislative proposals, development of risk management and IT Plans, policy development and contract review. She has been involved in professional activities including leadership and service to the legal profession over the years in a variety of associations - Arizona Trial Lawyers Association (Member, Board of Directors); American Trial Lawyers Association; Maricopa County Bar Association (Member, Board of Directors); State Bar of Arizona (Gender Bias Task Force Committee); American Board of Trial Advocates (Associate Member); American Inns of Court - Sandra Day O'Connor Inn (Barrister Member); and Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Pro Tempore. Margaret has published professional articles and book chapters, and has lectured at seminars on topics including ethics, jury selection, trial advocacy, medical malpractice litigation, physician and nursing record keeping, and manager, director and shareholder liability.

Education: Arizona State University, 1979 B.S. Nursing, Cum Laude; Arizona State University College of Law, 1982.

Other: Margaret is the author of The Jurisprudent Physician - A Physician's Guide to Legal Process and Malpractice Litigation, LEGIS PRESS (1999). She is a former registered nurse in New York and Arizona. She is admitted to practice in Arizona and in the United States District Court, District of Arizona. Margaret's volunteer interests involve high school arts and athletic activities, and alumni events at Arizona State University College of Nursing and College of Law.
